I just don't understand why you people keep whining?
If you play on public servers with 12 year old poles YOU will get vote kicked.
Play in places and with people that WON'T whine about camping or the Barrett.
Now stop crying about camping and f@cked up poles and be a MAN.

Wow, that was quite a waste of cyberspace, you didn't really give any constructive opinions on this matter.
Now take your prejudiced ass out of here back to your beloved TTW.
On topic: Let's take this discussion further, spawning is spawn camping, and it's considered a valid tactic by at least half the community, and maybe 80-90% of the official league players/clans, since it's a form of camping, why isn't it punishable?

That:
It's not wrong, unfair, or lame, unless it is done excessively, like staying in the same spot for more than 5 minutes. (My standards/not a camper)

-----------
Camping has its advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages are obvious: you're not clearly visible to the enemy so you have a good chance to strike first.

Disadvantages:
- There are players experienced enough to predict where camper might be hiding and strike before camper does (or at least dodge his attack).
- Many hiding spots still make it possible to notice campers - a barrel of the gun sticking out, or a tiny piece of blue/red shirt is visible, etc.
- Also, if a map is balanced well - most good camping spots are only good for hiding but bad for defense. So if you get spotted - you're doomed.

Camping in the same spot for long is not only lame but is rather pathetic too. Even a major will eventually realize where the camper is. I wouldn't worry about such campers.

Now why hasn't anyone answered my question about spawning yet? :/

camping is spawning is legit, but if it's excessive it's both lame, and is pretty bad.

Exactly, what I don't get is why other people, who play the game, and others with it in it, have like a zero tolerance towards any form of camping. And I know, it's ridiculous for me to think players in pubs have any form of common sense, but I just can't seem to get my head around it.

Many people are stupid. Plain stupid. Simple as that.
It's a sad truth that smarter people (like me!) just have to accept. :(

Exactly, since spawning is legit, which is a form of camping, that means hiding in a bush awaiting a foolish major isn't breaking any rules, and therefore shouldn't be kicked for.

Honestly. If someone shoots me from a good camping spot it makes me (myself) mad. Come at that person from a different direction. Just deal with it. Come at them with a weapon good for close range. Because if they hit you with the Barett then when you get up close you will have an advantage. Its not a big enough of a deal for two pages worth of talk. Thats life. Deal with it.

I camp sometime (but not all the times) in Snipe and Slice in some maps some talk about camping badly but i just ignore them and say f**k you. After that its all good (sometimes). You can camp easly in Snipe and Slice but in the normal ctf servers its a problem Once or Twice but after that the must get use to you by them. Unless the admin is a camper hater your good.Camping is just fin for me. And if they try to kick you better to leave the game and take the 5mins ban then the 24 or 5 or what ever hours is vote kick.I have not got kicked for camping yet.

If you let a camper stay in place for 5 minutes, you have a lack of basic skill.
If I get sniped from some bush, first thing I do when I spawn 3 seconds later is hunt him down. Since I know his location clear as day, I can easily put some bullets into him before I enter his line of sight.
Once he is binked, he is pretty much screwed if he stays, so he can retreat or he can die.

Either way you get him out of the damn bush.

Look guys, you guys would be camping in REAL FRIGGIN LIFE in war. So don't complain anything about camping guys...

Also, I believe camping is one of the smartest tactic in Soldat. Camping may slow the pace of the game, but this tactic gives both iron defense and steady momentum for other players. People simply get mad by getting killed easily by the campers.

But here's the tip, if you're smart enough and got used to the maps: avoid wide open fields and lower grounds where snipers can take you out easily. Sure you can spray and pray, but you could be overwhelmed by other automatic-users.

That's just one of my tip.....

No, there is far too many precious seconds lost in taking a shot with the sniper, missing, changing weapon and start to fire it. The sniper would be at a major disadvantage. Should he kill you with his secondary, you would atleast have taken out a major chunk of his health, forcing him to retreat and heal, thus eliminating the camper situation.

I am here assuming the camper and anti-camper is not worlds apart in skill level.

That is another reason why there aren't that many campers. Many "gifted" trained/good snipers have no problem scoping while in prone and killing a player, while some inexperienced player shoots from only a screen range. HOWEVER, some maps have exceptions... Such as ctf_Laos, where a red player can camp inside a cave and shoot randomly, killing players with nice chance of hitting.

This is another reason why camping is not to be looked down upon, not that many snipers can predict players' movements while in prone.
