Soldat on WCG ?
« on: April 17, 2010, 08:28:29 am »
Can we do anything to invite Soldat like a PC game in World Cyber Games !?

WCG Official Website: http://www.wcg.com/

-?->

Quote from: Wiki
The World Cyber Games (WCG) is an international e-sports event (or "Cyber Games Festival") operated by Korean company World Cyber Games Inc. and backed by Samsung and, since 2006, Microsoft. The official motto of WCG is "Beyond the Game", which is also the title of a documentary focusing on a legendary WCG rivalry. The World Cyber Games were set up in 2000 with the first festival being held in 2001. The festival is influenced by the Olympic Games with a players village for competitors and since 2004 a different host city every year.

Coming WCG 2010 PS Games:

- StarCraft
- Counter-Strike
- FIFA
- TrackMania
- Carom3D
- Red Stone
- WarCraft III

It would be the best promotion to Soldat! Inauguration of our loved game!

You have to be kidding.
Do you even know what are the requirements that a game becomes a WCG one?
Last year, I dreamt I was pissing at a restroom, but I missed the urinal and my penis exploded.

soldat isn't stable enough for competitive (for money) play.
also... a game needs atleast 100 times as big of a community than the one of soldat (the competitive community).

It isn't possible, but imo soldat is very interessting game (for spectators). but I see difficulties in actually having a live cast of it because of the fast gameplay, approximatly 20 seconds per average soldat life, very quick turning events (can turn from a bad position into a good one too quickly, not stable enough gameplay).

This game have got more than 10 years  ;)

Are this real reasons of this: "Why Soldat isn't be in WCG"? And who has said it...?

In my opinion, Soldat would be a perfect addition to WCG if not all the lags and bugs. If it was stable and visually a little more presentable - I think it could even take place among WCG monsters like Counter-Strike or Quake.

Shame on you. Go play it. :|

It actually looks ok even now and is about the level of an average indie game.
Except for the fact that it only supports 640x480. Not very fun, especially when you have about this many units:

sctfl forums: Total Members: 3238
sctfl 16: currently 94 clans, I would guess maybe 500-700 players.

there is absolutly no way why they would take soldat instead of those worse games, like, sudden attack and whatnot (don't even know what they are named, altho, I thought sudden attack was already in wcg).

Graphics.

Starcraft is among the greatest games in the world, extremely well balanced.
It is also south koreas national sport, so why starcraft is in wcg is not a surprise.

WCG is operated by Korean company.
In Korea, there is not much of soldat players(maybe less than 20 ppl). also, they don't know what is the soldat imo

Soldat is not even close to Quake possibility of constumization. Btw, even TeeWorlds which is 2D uses openGL and offer loads of features to customize.

... graphics has nothing to do with WCG, SC and CS are good examples of that.
it's more about popularity and game play, if it's a huge game with good gameplay (and well balanced), it might very well end up in WCG.

If we exclude the current bugs, Soldat has an awesome gameplay. I mean, how would it got this far if it wouldn't have?
Big community is good, but it's not good if it doesn't accomplish anything. Take Warsow as an example.

Soldat has quite a strong community, dont you agree?

To me the fun thing on Soldat are the bugs. In fact, they are not bugs, more like features ;>

In true, Soldat is like another MMORPG, u can choose classes.

Like a eater is the tanker...
The Invi nade spammer is the stealth assassin...
The warper is the mage...

And when u are high level, you can mix all classes together and eat, warping, shooting invi shits.
