How to create clan?

Im n00b, and I don't know how to create clan.

I read how to make sucesfull good clan, but I don't understand it.

Do I have to do something in the, in 3rd party program?

Please help.

As a leader you need to have at least a certain set of skills, including leadership skills, and experience builds those skills. Experience which you don't seem to have.

I'm afraid I need to agree with Dusty - even if it's only once..

Here is some little advice:

1) Make friends with people of your level of skills
2) Stay in contact with them via xFire/MSN/ICQ/whatever
3) Waste hours on creating a clanpage (free forum, google it)
4) Invite people to your clan, use one tag and have fun

You can ask other clans for clanwars (in short: cws). The most usual format is a 2v2 CTF match with 3 rounds. Don't forget to take screenshots at the end of every round (stats).

Connect to quakenet and get an auth check http://www.quakenet.org for how
join channels like #soldat.gather for playing gathers and learning to know ppl + become a better player
#soldat.match to look for cws
#soldatladder to rent servers
and most common format is not 2vs2 but 3vs3 ctf best out of 3 rounds where alpha chooses first map then bravo chooses second map and if there is still a tie you usually play a tiebreaker which atm according to sctfl rules is ctf_Division.

To put it simply: clan is just a group of people that plays the same game on the same servers at the same times and preferably on the same team against other clans. That group of people has to have a name (Clan Name), and a short version of that name (Clan Tag) that they add at the beginning or end of their nicknames so that other players can see that they're members of the same clan.

That's all there is to creating a clan.


All those 3rd party programs, clan sites, forums - they're just extra things that many people use to organize clan wars and matches, to keep in touch with each other and recruit new members. They're not required for creation of a clan, but are useful for keeping it active.

Keeping the clan alive and active is another story though.

3. create a channel.
4. invite friends there.
5. play alot of clan wars and you clan will be better each cw and you will get more exps.

As many people suggested to get on IRC, here is an easy tutorial to get started properly there: http://wiki.soldat.nl/IRC_tutorial (IRC really is the only way to go when you want to have a proper clan in soldat, forget xfire msn or icq. All active clans use IRC to find their matches and to stay in contact with the clanmembers.)

You could try asking in the big channels (gather channels and soldat.match) for people interested in joining your team, or you could make a post here: http://www.sctfl.net/forums/index.php?board=9.0

As said though, it might be hard to find people interested in joining your team if they don't know you at all, playing some more on the gathers will help you get to know some people
