Setting up wordpress takes a few minutes, yes. But is wordpress really the good choice? What other sites like wordpress are out there? What features do they have? What cons and pros? How well each of them will serve as a dev blog?

Answering all those questions is what really takes up the most time. Theres no point in setting up something only to realize that it doesn't work quite the way you wanted it.

Stop being a troll and back your statements with actual facts.

Wordpress works great and the vast majority of the blogs on the internet use it. It's so good that Microsoft has even started optimizing php on their web server so it runs it correctly. Due to its open source nature bugs are found and fixed quickly and it's updating features makes updating to the latest release easy.

But you should probably just set up a free web account at http://wordpress.com , which would give you a full fledged wordpress blog with a url like loner.wordpress.com or something similar.

WP's reputation as having awful security is mostly a hold over from 2+ years ago when it was indeed nothing short of atrocious. It's gotten better (though plug-ins vary widely), but still suffers from the fact that it's the most popular blogging software and users are idiots (ref: Windows).

Agreed.  This team needs to get their asses in gear and start up a dev blog.  This game is at a critical phase right now, and the product (if there is one) needs to be shown to the community to keep interest high.

It seems that the job description for soldat developer must list "incompetent communication skills" as a pre-requisite for the job.
