The guy who made it, when entering it into the competition here, had 3 versions. One that made it do that every like 5 seconds, one that was 10 or summit, and one alot longer... which is the one you see ^^

I'm inclined to stick with the current logo. I'm adding a poll with 3 options

"Do you want to have a new forum logo contest?"
Options:
"No, I'm happy with the current logo"
"Yes but I won't submit a logo I just want to vote on a new one"
"Yes and I will be submitting a logo for the contest"

We need to have enough "yes" answers, and enough people saying they'll be submitting logos for the contest.

But I want to suggest that after all new logos were submitted to have the possiblity to also vote for the old logo. Who knows what weird logos will be submitted and then we'll have to stick with one of those...

How about if you really think you got a super winner on your hands, you post it. If it's REALLY as good as you think it is, the banner will change.

1) Announce the contest in a new topic.
2) Set a deadline.
3) Collect entries.
4) Start a new thread with votes / discuss internally.

Because if there's no contest, the people who made logos are going to bitch about their wasted effort. The poll results now aren't convincing enough that I would want to organize a contest.

jrgp, if you want to run a contest based on the current results, go ahead. But include the current logo or "keep the current logo" as an option, so that people who want to keep things as-is have that option.

Please, these are not the Carebear Circlejerk Forums. If someone's candidate isn't good enough to replace whatever banner we have, then it's just not good enough. If it's good enough, then we don't need a contest.

Addendum: If you lazy ***gots really want to improve Soldat then go use that energy to make mods and maps and other addons that contribute to the playing experience instead of being butthurt whiners and jerking off to yourselves thinking you're being a real big help to the community by voting some ugly s**t to post on the top of the forums.

Sheesh, take it easy, you should open your goddamn eyes and look around: No one gives a flying fuck anymore, Soldat is dying, and will continue to bleed dry unless 1.5.1 gets here, until then there's nothing we can do about it.
And the way I see it, these forums will remain long after the game, if not for mods and apps and whatnot, then for the people who log in here every other day for a couple of lols, and I personally would like something to keep this place at the very least, fresh.

I don't mind the current logo at all. I like it better than the older one. Overall though I wouldn't mind some change of scenery. Not just a new logo - but a whole new forum theme or at least new color scheme. Though with our community being as small as it is now - I doubt much will get done.
