Got an iPod touch for new years, and one of the first apps I was going to get was Last.fm app. But because of some retarded canadian law the app was taken off canadian app store and is only available in US, UK and Germany.

I would really like to get this app, but for that I need to use someone's appstore account (Apple ID) that is registered to one of the 3 countries I mentioned. The app is absolutely free, so you won't be charged a cent.

If someone could let me use their account to get this one app - I would really appreciate it.

You can't mix and match apple accounts for your itouch/iphone to install different apps.

How come? What if I actually moved to US and created a new Apple ID in order to buy apps there? I doubt all my apps that I bought with my Canadian card would become unusable just because of that. So it should work the other way around..
Unless they actually check if you're using a region-restricted app from a restricted IP, in which case a lot of people with proxies would be really pissed at Apple, so I think IP restrictions are also unlikely.

I'm saying individual apps you buy (the .ipa files) are tied to an individual apple id. Switching apple id's will render apps you bought with your previous apple id unusable.

Maybe you can literally move to the US and set your existing apple id's country to the US and use a USA credit card to be able to buy apps only available here, but otherwise I'd say you're out of luck.

From iTunes store license aggreement:
"(iii) You shall be able to store App Store Products from up to five different Accounts at a time on compatible iOS Products."
Doesn't that mean that I should be able to have apps that are tied to different accounts?

Why don't you use a proxy, and make an account that way? Or am I thinking wrong.. :[

Unfortunately you do need to have a valid credit card to make an account (though I heard itunes gift cards work too). I even tried creating a fake one using fake name generator, but it doesn't generate credit card security codes. And if I went as far as faking a security code - I'd be in big trouble.
Proxy didn't help either because my credit card is tied to a Canadian bank.

If you can suggest one that is more than 32gb, can download music off your computer without USB connection, has a nice touch-screen interface, hundreds of downloadable games and apps, wi-fi, high-def display, good hardware and a crapton of other features, all for less than $300 - then I might consider it.

That looks like a poorly executed iTouch clone.

Anyway, nothing else out there now can match the amount of quality apps iOS devices afford you, so for what he wants the iTouch seems best.

I've finally found a solution. There actually is a way to create an account without a credit card, and it's described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534

So after following it I managed to successfully download Last.fm and a few other region-restricted apps.
