Forever doesn't mean forever
« on: February 16, 2011, 02:59:54 am »
Is it just me, or are others finding they have to login constantly, despite choosing to be logged in forever?

Seems to be happening to me too. Not sure why. I don't think anything code/login wise has changed for a long time.

It's absolutely infuriating and hopefully I'll have time to see to it soon.

Hah, and I was wondering if it was just me.  When did people notice this starting?  I'd say within the past 7 days but can't really be more specific than that.

I'd say around five days. When I come here from chromes new tab page it shows I am logged in. But when I click forums it logs me out? Or maybe that is just my cache..

That's probably just chrome caching the actual rendered page, so then when you click something it is actually fetching from the server.

I'll have to think about what could have possibly caused this on the server side, and I'm sure jrgp will poke around a bit as well.  Very bizarre.

Been happening to me too for the past week or so. And not just on SF, but on some other sites too. Does that happen for you on other sites or just here?

Opera has an autocomplete thingy called magic wand, but I'm still curious wth is causing this and why it's happening on other sites for me too. :|
Btw, on SF it only seems to keep me logged in for a day. I only have to login once during the day, but by next day it logs me out. Not sure when exactly though.

OK...Weird, this has been happening with me for about 14 days now, and until a week ago it included other sites and forums as well, but when I re-checked "Stay logged in" it stopped, except on SF. I'm using Firefox.

I've been using the login at the top left untill now, so lets see if that fixes it ;P

I get popups when I get new PMs, but as soon as I go to messages tab it says that I'm not logged in. So it seems that I actually am logged in at first, but then something breaks and it logs me out. :S

Can you all please post again saying
- Whether or not you're impacted by it
- What OS you're on
- What browser you are using (including version)

Please post all of that information even if you are not having this problem.
