I like that idea. N00bface's server is nice and all, but there are too many random people with no artistic sense whatsoever running around everywhere and polluting the environment. I would actually prefer a server with fewer people who at least know each other.

What kind of server you want to make? With or without PVP? Any other scripts, or just (mostly) vanilla minecraft?

I think mostly plain MC, for now at least, we should vote on the mods we want to use too (do mods work in multi-player?). I could make a cool world for us, I'm getting really good with MCEdit, map editor. I could even splice everyones existing worlds, cut out their houses and stuff and put them all into one world! Then we'll connect eveyones house together with a bad ass train system!! ... ... this is gonna be fun

Building is the most fun part for me, so I'd prefer just building my home from scratch.
As for the worlds - you can now save "seed" code of your world and share it with others, so that they can generate that exact same world without having to download save files. So we should google around and see if anyone has posted any interesting seed codes and use one that we like.

What for?.. Isn't minecraft's own login system enough?

Yeah, a password or some kinda login would work, and OP everyone from SF, to be sure.

There's a built-in whitelist feature in the latest version of the server which simply won't allow non-listed players to join. I suggest we just use that.

No, I think you're right. According to the wiki, the spawn really is random. :/

This world does look awesome, but I don't really like the location of the spawn point. It'd be fine for single-player but for multiplayer it would be better if spawn was on a relatively flat ground, away from everyone's houses. If there's an easy way to change a spawn point - then I don't mind.
For spawn point I vote for a flat grassy area down there near the lake (with a bunch of yellow flowers): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVgVIgLTCSM#t=2m03s  (btw, hilarious moment at 3:20-3:40 XD)
Or we could also look for some other worlds, I'm sure there are other interesting ones out there.

P.S. So, when can we expect the server to be up? I can't wait.

theres a way to set your spawnpoint for example /sethome .., if you like to go there you can type /home in any situation.
