Three sugestions for v1.5.1

1. Embedded balance script in team games (!b or !balance), without having to add manually. This is a must have!

2. That option in Clanmatch (config.exe) change the color of the pants for the same team (eg, a Alpha player has torso and red pants, but the hair color and style is untouched)

3. Why is he kicking BattlEye randomly even with the MSAC updated? Time to FIX it!

4. Minimun resolution can be 800x600 - 640x480 sucks! Well, both options avaible!  :P

#1 - I agree that there should be some kind of built-in version of that (and also built-in !nextmap while we're at it), but it's not really high priority since most servers already have them as scripts.

#4 - It'll probably be too much work to be done in time for 1.5.1. Also, Soldat's native resolution will still be 640x480. Having menu and Soldat use different resolutions can cause problems.
In my opinion, the actual window size should be the same as whatever the user set for two reasons: (1) when in fullscreen, no resolution change has to be done when joining and leaving a server, and (2) when in windowed mode, if the user has something in the background he wants to see while playing Soldat, he can easily tell if it will be visible when in-game or not (e.g. IRC chat) since the window never changes sizes.

So, unfortunately, the menu will have to stay at 640x480 for the most part, unless someday Soldat is updated with higher-resolution graphics which I can't see happening anytime soon.

Erm... That's 4 suggestions.

I remembered the fourth one when I was finishing the thread  :P

You mean that, even when someone is playing with 1024x768 or so, Soldat's menu will still be 640x480?
And if the native resolution could be, erm... variable?

Oh, another thing... Not all servers have !b, so have a built-in script would be VERY helpful... There are always players that don't play fair or so...

In my opinion it shouldn't be built-in. Scripting is there for a reason. It's up to people hosting servers whether add it or not.
I'd rather see some default scripts pack shipped with soldatserver pack.

No, I mean that all of Soldat's graphics are made for 640x480 resolution, also unregistered users all use 640x480 resolution. If menu was 800x600 and the game was 640x480 - your monitor would have to switch resolution every single time you leave/join the server.

I suppose it's possible to increase Soldat's native resolution by making higher-resolution soldier/weapon/interface graphics, but again - it's a lot of work and isn't top priority right now, so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

my Only suggestion for soldat (not1.5.1) is:
visible changeable gfx
if a server uses instead of m79 a rpg-7 or m4a1 or something that the gfx are downloaded and used...

2) There are mods.
3) Downloading mods off a server. No.

There were similar discusions including server/client side mods. All were bashed.
Please, check the useful "Search" option before jumping into a discussion.

For the OP:
1) Why not.
2)  I would like that one.
3) The current version still uses BE, while MSAC is workarounded in it. Its fixed in the beta iirc.
4) It would need to redo the most, if not all ingame graphics. It would be nice to see that someday.

There is already a Balance_Teams=1 option in the soldat.ini.
I'm not sure if it works well but as it seems people prefer to use scripts for balancing for some reason.

It forces joining players to the team which has less players. It does not balance the teams when one or more players leave the other team, as scripts often do. Improving the built-in team balancer in such way that it would move players from team to another if there's more than two players less would actually help a bit, I think.
