Glad you're enthusiastic about it [flab]. I'm just waiting for the last bit of my computer to arrive before I geek out on a 1920x1080 TV monitor (for which I feel so dumb about wanting to do -- dragging my computer into another room, making a mess of things etc. -- so I'm trying to make up for it psychologically by telling myself that it's like watching a movie that I get to interact it . . .).
Do I have any hope of running Portal 2 on high or at least medium settings with a GeForce 7600GT? (I'm not worried about CPU or RAM, I know they can handle it). I can run Portal 1 on very high settings and from what I've seen - Portal 2 graphics don't seem much better than in 1..
You should be able to run it, but don't expect to be able to run it in very high. GeForce 7600 is listed as the minimum requirement for GPU. The graphics are much better, the engine uses a lot of new shader techniques and also uses dynamic lighting throughout.
I can't laugh at Mac users anymore. I remember the good old days when all they could do is play with Photoshop... Now they have Steam. So I can only laugh at Linux users now. They have to emulate Windows to run everything. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Good job Mr. Non-conformist. Etc.
just finished the game, it was awesome. the graphics and writing of the entire game were fantastic.
