I'm using MAGIX Digital DJ, but I'm thinking about switching to something else as soon as I find something. It isn't very, good. Can't assign hotkeys, or really.. Drop. Just using virtual until I can get the money for a table.

what is this? I take it it's a mash up of multiple tracks? Or an attempt at a mix, sounds quite messy really. I tried using virtual dj quite a while ago. It's pretty neat, you should try it. Especially considering there are plenty of tutorials. http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html

Ssssecondly, i have a feeling you don't get the general picture of track structures and basic principles of mixing tracks. I guess you just need to listen to lots of professional DJs' shows, get the actual separate tracks they're playing and see how they manipulate them. You also need to have a good sense of rhythm. If you don't have that, everything else is futile.

It would also be of immense value for you to get to play on real decks if someone lets you or at least look how people do it. Buying hardware is a serious decision and you won't want to waste your money on it if you're never actually going to use it. I would strongly discourage buying cheap DJ gear, as i have heard way too many complaints about cheap decks (and got an old two-channel numark mixer myself, with leaking sliders -.- just using it as a volume control witn an EQ atm) It's fine if you're just going to toy with the stuff, then you can buy cheapo s**t and sleep well. But cheap hardware is usually so poorly built that you'll eventually be ripping your arms off because it will drive you insane. It's especially bad if you're not experienced - you need to practice on good hardware (if you take it seriously of course) or you will just get frustrated.

Edit: this guy explains the basics, pretty straight-forward really: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ulp6eGu2Uw

I like what I heard. There is potential. Much potential. Keep up the gj. What are you playing Black Ops on?

I think it's pretty badass. The first buildups are great, and I liked the drop off the tetris.
