Holy balls if I had time I would totally install and play that now.  I loved that game (specifically, AoE II and its expansion).

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

@Mangled*: so.. in other words - the only reason you're here is to bash the game and insult its "defenders"? That's kinda pathetic..

Nope, like I've said twice now I don't doubt that it could be a good game. Sure, I'm criticizing it for being a rip-off and unoriginal. Aren't people allowed to criticize something if they have an opinion on it? You're as bad as China.

Oh cmon, don't try to cover up your ass with that "i'm allowed to have my own opinion" bs. Opinion is only an opinion when you don't act like an ass. You have some good points but you often put them in an insulting way, and that makes you half-troll, leaving you with only half the respect you can get. :/

Terraria doesn't look like a bad game, I could understand how people would like it cause you make weapons and shit and attack enemies.

I guess it just depends on opinion, I don't want to buy it though.

This is a good game, but unfinished and ultimately limited by design, just like many other games out there. You can definetely have plenty of fun for all your moneys worth and more even now, but eventually you'll get to the point when you have the coolest armor, best weapon, everything explored and conquered and then the game is over for you. You can still kill time with it, but its not going to be satisfying to keep playing it with a passion like you did at the beginning.

Anyway, I'm just rambling now, but I do recommend this game. It is worth your money if you have it.

Well, I have a legal copy of the game but I don't like playing on Steam.
If anyone is up for a game, just find me on IRC

I apologize for tossing my salad spoon on it so furiously before (for anyone who took it in the heart). I took liking of the game, but it indeed feels kinda unfinished.
Theres some promising s**t coming in the updates though:

* Pure PvP servers with team based objectives. Worlds will be generated before every match. Imagine a CTF server where towers are automatically created on either side of the map. Players can fight it out on the surface, or try to tunnel into the other tower.

* Adding sloped/inclined tiles to make the world smoother.

* New harder world types to continue game progression (Ex: Alien plants, alternate dimensions, evil worlds, etc.)

* Enemy factions that will move into your world, and build their own city. You can slaughter them while they are weak, or let them build up their strength to get better rewards.

* More events: Volcanoes, earthquakes, more/improved invasions, etc..

* Weather: Seasons, snow, floods, etc..

* Farming, and stamina system that gives a bonus to player stats.

* Mechanics for making traps and devices.

Wow, this game sounds hopeful. It doesn't sound like they're going to stick themselves into a box. Nice. I was excited alone on the fact that there was a [banned] map editor.

And that was a harsh salad spoon toss.
