Hello everyone!

It's release candidate 2 time!

Since you all want to test and not read all day I'll keep myself short.

I hope this version fixes most of your issues, let me know if you find some annoying bugs. ;)
I didn't fix the untranslated texts. They have to wait till 1.6.1. Sorry about that.
Note: There are probably some unfinished translations! If you want you can help us to complete them.

Maybe the autoupdater will work this time without going crazy :D

If you have the Soldat 1.6.0rc1 or earlier client run it.
There should be an update popup.

Note that this version needs a new server version so please don't forget to update your servers ;)

All the totally game breaking bugs should be fixed by now, looking forward to finally getting this thing released! ;)

After a long period of almost no progress at all, things seam to be going faster, and the fact that it went this fast from Rc1 to Rc2 means the developers have done a great job. I can’t wait for the real version to be here and be able to say It’s done!
We must continue to push development and help all that we can with testing or anything you can contribute with. Today I feel proud of being a soldateer.

Thanks again to the developers and good luck with the rc2 testing everyone!

I think I'll make the spectator chat an option after it's fixed.
The way it currently works is not how people expect it to work.

The code isn't really easy to change and needs some cleanup first.

I know, I said that for old updater. Since we are updating from rc1, you shouldn't write all the changelog because we can't see the OK and Cancel buttons. We can't even read it too its off screen!

Oh you are right. Sorry my mistake... It was an official Windows XP theme downloaded from microsoft.com, Zune... So I thought it wasn't a theme problem.

And a suggestion: Make the bot difficulty hardest one for Soldatserver. Because it is online game and harder=better.

Also 1366x768 resolution is missing in Config. It is the default resolution for most 15" and 13" notebooks

New autoupdate window for soldat on windows 7 looks just fine, just tested it. :)

Can you post the exact steps to reproduce the error from clean installation?

Can you post the exact steps to reproduce the error from clean installation?

It seems like it works now!!! Has to be some firewall-related thingy - srry for posting & learning about this almost every new version lol :/

Take a look at this. Stats in right-low corner shows that i'm first even Shoozza and bet have more points... Does it show first player on map by caps...? Or maybe by position from up on a table...? Something is fucked here... :(

Because it is really pain to check weapon stats while short respawn time is counting down... and there is no point to easy access for fps stuff ...

I agree. What about F4 though? I forgot what it does. :(
Ideally all the F# keys should just be customizable like regular controls. I'd gladly replace useless music controls with something else.

How about:
[F1] - players list with scores / [ALT + F1] - hide player names
[F2] - weapon stats / [ALT + F2] - show/hide sniper line
[F3] - minimap on/off / [ALT + F3] - statistics (FPS, ping, network bandwith)

Minimizing soldat looks like this..
Make it say Soldat 1.6.0 instead of theese squares :p
How do you minimize soldat like that?

Alt + Tab minimizes soldat like this for me and in general i think
You forgot to tell me that it only works in fullscreen...
I get some chinese/japanese chars when I do it. No idea why that happens though.
If I find out why I will update it. But it's low priority ;).

Btw the new keys for the weaponstats etc work now and the weaponstats get reset on join and mapchange :D

The admin protocol is not unicode ready. I decided to fix it after 1.6.0.

Why would you need to check your FPS? I understand doing it a few times for testing purposes, but once you're done testing - you don't need to see it anymore. Plus it's not a gameplay-related feature, so it's lower priority IMHO.

As for minimap - once or twice during round is still often. At least more often than FPS.

Heh never knew about the [Alt+F3] keyboard shortcut before.

Minor bug: doing e.g. "/addbot5 Boogie Man" while in spec, with realistic on, the bot makes a "hurts" sound (like getting hurt by fall damage).

No one complained probably because nobody uses hide players name and show/hide sniper line. But with fps being alt+f3 i guess you will start to get some complains.

Not for me. I use fps maybe only every 3-4 matches but minimap every time I am ffc and waiting in our base.

You added the missing names to the weapon stats but the sorting still isn't consistent. I suggest the following:
- primary weapons
- secondary weapons
- Grenade
- Clusters
- Fists (I'm not sure but isn't "Fists" the term used by most poeple? "Hands" sounds strange.)
- Flamer
- Bow
- Flame Bow
- Stationary Gun (use capital "G" like every other weapon name)
No difference between man and mouse - both end up in pussy.

I believe this is because weapon id`s are unfortunately inconsistent (in this context). But I agree, the order should be modified to match what the average player would expect.

I've seen it both ways. I've been trying to use hands more often, as I think I see that more often; but both are understandable terms.

Config.exe label was fixed already

The reason why it's not sorted like that is like DorkeyDear said.
The weapon ids are inconsistent and I tries to move it down but then there was weird output as if something changed the values so i left it out.

No, please use the one attached in that same post  :)   

The bug thing I posted comes from when 1.5 was released (where some new lines of text were added)... there are some parts that can't be translated (as shown in the pics) and therefore are shown in English. For what I understand that text is hard-coded but assigning that variable shouldn't be a big deal.

It affects all the languages except English, but again is a minor thing.

The specific lines are:
%s dropped the %s Flag
%s Flag dropped!


Edit to add, the lines that show the text correctly are formatted as this:

%s got the Yellow Flag
%s returned the Red Flag
%s returned the Blue Flag

So I think that to make the other lines work they should be formatted as:

%s dropped the Red Flag
%s dropped the Blue Flag
Red Flag dropped
Blue Flag dropped

The game being reg/unreg doesn't affect this at all. The problem is that the widescreen windowed version (16:9) gets stretched into 4:3 monitor, cause the black bars doesn't appear in that case. Srsly -.-.

Why do you set resize to 100%?
If I understand correctly, you have a 800x600 desktop, right?
Then simply set Soldat resolution to 800x480 windowed and without resize.
The only downside is that you'll see your desktop.

No, I'm using 1280x1024, with that resolution the interface/chat/killog are abit too small for quick noticing. I'm used to playing with my whole monitor filled up with game-screen. That's why resize option is so great, I can use 1024x768 (while having my desktop at 1280...) and make it fill up the whole monitor for me. Anyways, rami already fixed it :), yaaaaaaaay ^^.

Hey, it happens with 1680x1050 (idk about higher, but it doesnt on default one) resolution. Checkout attached screen. The kill console shows like one less line than it should, on next kill it is moved up and previous kill is all shown, but now the last kill isn't, and so on.

Look up the word 'team' in a dictionary, there should be a reference to a word called 'cooperation', look that up too if you must.
