Why don't mapmakers use scenery like this in ctf maps?

So I noticed this awesome crashed plane scenery on one of the climb maps and wonder why don't we see cool stuff like this in the normal mode maps?

Afaik there is a few maps like that, cant remember names though.

Because the only people that good at mapping (SonSukka/Smiluu made that) either no longer exist or don't map anymore.

The correct answer is that most people can't be bothered to make their own sceneries

I tried to keep the fashion up (see this, this or this) using combinations of original multitextures and sceneries. I experimented with self made animated sceneries as well, but Soldat tends to make them look buggy at times.

Yeah, maybe ctf need some maps that are not aimed at the competitive site, maybe we need more ctf maps just for fun.
That would be nice for a change. I think I'll work on that eventually lol

I had plans for making a maya-like CTF-map with my own scenery, but eventually stopped working on it as I quit Soldat. I do not play anymore. I also do not create maps anymore. But I do have made some crazy shit DM map with tall grass you could like.

I agree, i dont like most of the maps which are made for competive clan games, they have less scenerys and look so empty, also...
meanwhile i think all people should can handle some more sceneries on the maps o.o ^^

And it is true that most people dont make own sceneries, as i do... but... if someone has some nuce sceneries i'll be happy to have them and use them in a map :)

btw,
I worked recently on that map, it's just for fun ctf. And well the colours are a bit fucked cauze of the red/ purple / blue light i added, but can rework.

Also, any constructive critism, better routes etc maybe?


[PS: screen was taken out of the SMP overview, im basicly just asking for suggestions about the routes and spawns etc]


Also, got some other maps in works.
And no, good mappers are still arround, the diffrent between a good and worse map is mostly just the time you spend in. (well for me atleast)

And Note, As de Espada is a great mapper and still here :D

You should create a new topic for feedback on you map ;)
About your map, I would remove the lowest cut through stone, because it will be too straight from the flag, and the upper route will be more used by a running flagger.
