Hello Community!

It been almost 6 years since I formed the dev.
I have been following Soldat for 13 years now and hacking stuff for it for almost a decade.

A number of devs joined the dev team, worked on Soldat, went idle, returned and left. In fact most active devs weren't there from the start of the dev team.

I'd like to thank all those people who joined me on this journey and helped me to improve Soldat over these years.

Soldat had 3 leaders since its inception in 2002.
There was MM who build this game out of nothing.
EnEsCe who took over when MM was looking for new challenges and
then I took over and decided that it was time to have a team of developers work on it.

But now it is time to pass my favorite ball of spaghetti to the next person.

Today I am leaving Soldat and also resign as Soldat dev team lead.

From here on Falcon will take over as the new Soldat dev team leader.

There are some nice things already in the pipeline. I think you will like them and I am sure you will see some more interesting things in the future.

Since I am out of the game there are some more things I have to mention.
The Advanced Remote Soldat Server Enchanter is now officially dead.
I had plans to improve on the original Soldat Admin client but that's also history now. With Baka Admin you have a great alternative Admin client.
I started working on PolyWorks not long ago and someone might want to maintain it as there are no alternatives for it at this point.

I'm aslo still mapping, so better do something about that polyworks! I know we have one dedicated player working on a substitute atm. I dunno what he thinks about maintaining the PW itself tho ^.-

This is somewhat heartbreaking.

Soldat is a problematic project in anyway you look at it.
To be honest Shoozza, there lot of other more exciting things to do than endure this project, haha.
It probably creates bad psychological effect, being so long dev lead.

Thanks for everything! You've been really helpful whenever I asked you questions and you didn't stay indifferent to the suggestions.

Wishing Falcon the very best in the main developer role! Hoping to see the weekly dev-logs going again!
Quite obvious, but I guess that everyone's expecting most to hear some news about a fully functional Anti-Cheat, which would probably be the BEST thing that could happen to Soldat at the moment, besides getting on Steam (although I assume an anti-cheat will have to come before it goes on Steam).

That is really inaccurate. You'll always find people to play with on the public servers. Please stop making things look worse than they are.

I have no words to thank you and your team for everything you did to this game, they can say soldat have lots of bugs and we all know it, but you decided to not just complain and fixed a lot of them. We will always need people like this, those who not just talk, but DO something.

The truth for me and maybe for some people here is:

I spent a lot of money in a PC that is able to run ANYTHING in 4k ultra settings, but I just can't stop playing Soldat. I spent hours downloading 60GB games like GTA V, The Witcher 3, Far Cry Primal and I don't got time to play them because everytime I get home after my daily work, the first thing I do is open mIRC and do !add and when everyone is finaly sleeping and I decide to play another game its already too late.
