Soldat history
« on: October 16, 2016, 08:54:13 pm »
I think its time, given that work on the game was begun almost 15 years ago, to compile the combined knowledge in this forum into a history about soldat.

It would be great, if we could add less known details aswell.

Plz quote the original post and add in new stuff. Maybe even hl the new shit with a different color?

The game was orignally created by Michał Marcinkowsk (MM), who started working on the game in November, 2001.
It is coded in the Delphi (a Dialect of Object Pascal) programming language. Rumor has it, that MM originally created the game to have something to play with his friends.

If everyone just contributes a few lines every once in a while we will have a nice compendium soon :)

I do like your idea, however, I am afraid not many people will fancy spending time on that. There is no incentive unfortunately... Good luck anyway!

MM and EnEsCe once made a new aiming system with 2 seperate cursors called 'aim-lag', where one cursor displays your aim and the other one where the bullet will hit. It was never released.

perhaps soldat wiki would be a better place for such docs?
