HK vs Shotgun

I think the shotgun needs minus speed and the HK put near its old damage. Right now shotgun is putting HK to shame. They are soldat's two up close fast paced weapons. Before they were even. Now Shotgun has the lead, and if you're in a tight space everyone is picking shotgun for obvious reasons. I suggest putting HK stronger and taking away shotgun's amazing range right now. This could be done in the bug fix patch.

Shotgun is one of my favorite weapons, so I'm pretty unbiased on this one.

Beta testers: we've seen the new balance in action. The only way to properly tweak it perfect is to let mass amounts of people test it. It's okay to change the balance after its been released.

Yeah shotgun is one of my favorite weapons too, but it is quite powerful now.
I suggest either a speed, damage or fire interval tweaks. I actually like the new speed of the weapons, but fire interval could be a little higher to balance it out a little...

That's exactly the problem I see with the two close-range-guns, they used to be on par but now everyone's going shotty since its so much faster and easier to kill with it, even in mid-range (compared to the MP5) - personally I use both weapons quite often, so I did notice the difference; I'd suggest making the fire interval of the shotty slightly longer again while reducing the selfbink or increasing the damage output of the MP5 a bit (maybe to 1.3.1 values, but it'd need some testing with this new balance)
A completely uncommon tweak to the shotgun could also be reducing the ammo of the shotty by 1 or 2, but I guess that would annoy most spas-users (although I myself don't see such a problem with, it due to its reload system)

I play mostly with the aug and if not in a tunnel ill own most of the shotgunners... 1.4 has taught me to stay far away from tunnels unless i find a shotgun on the ground lol.  But i like the way the shotgun is now...i just hate that damn ruger!

I agree. The Shotgun can also put the Steyr to shame if used correctly. The + it got were screwing the balance on close ranges.

I think shotty just needs a little less damage and it would be fine becuase a little less goes a long way with like 10 shots per click on the shotgun.

lower the shotties damage, not speed, it barely farts bullets to begin with. The MP5 needs damage, simple.

mp5 wasn't overpowered before, so i never understood why they nerfed it (along with minimi, which is rarely used) now it's even weaker and i think definitely needs to be boosted somehow.

Well, they didn't nerf it much, they just buffed the shotgun a lot.

Making it completely useless.

Now that I think about it, Everything I was ever good at using has been nerfed since 1.2.1, LAW, Barrett, AK, Ruger, Knife, MP5.

Everyone should take note: Soldat is a far cry from CS - it's a twitch shooter at its core.  Make the game fast paced, you'll be onto a winner. 

Punishing people for moving in a twitch shooter is quite lame.

Damn strait. 1.2.1 would have been great if the barrett had a tiny delay on it, because even though i used the thing, it was overpowered with a very easy fix.

??? everyone swiched to minigun ??? Styer ??? Lol. I saw ~5 styer users. First I saw when I've looked in the mirror xD

Impossible ... minigun is crap in 1.4 < anti spray :Q >

Steyr has always owned every gun except the ruger and sometimes the ak... As for the shotgun i think it is way to powerful but i still manage to own the hell out of anyone with a shotgun when im not in a tunnel.  (and its not because im any good at soldat)

I'm a modding-type guy, so I'll say something here.

I would indeed like for them to be balanced. I don't pick the MP5 anymore, and I did in 1.3.1 because it was good at slightly longer ranges in tunnels than the Spas. I don't pick it because of what now? Because the SPAS has it outdone. The range was extended. Now, there's no reason to pick the Navy SEAL's favorite weapon. It is just too close.

I've also found that it's hard to kill with it against Deagles or Steyrs at close range. And no, it's not just me. It's realistic.

All-around good with weapons that aren't long range, except in TW.
