Warhammer 40k: (Series II)
« on: July 19, 2006, 07:48:00 am »
Ladies and Lads!

No doubt many of you are as excited as we are to finally present to the public, our second and greatest version of the Warhammer 40k Series!!

Since the release of the first version we were sent many PMs and sugestions about what should be improved, what should be dropped and what should be made bigger!

Following our fans suggestions we have selected the most popular (and more authentic) weapons from the Warhammer 40k world, gave them more detail, realistic sounds and a much more satisfying feel!  :D

I, Stalky, and Anubis am proud to present.....
WARHAMMER 40K SERIES II!!

This fabulous mod comes with an interface that allows you to select your dream combination from the selection of 40k themed weapons shown above!

As if that wasnt enough, you can also select Gosteks from the races of the Warhammer world! The best part of this mod is the ability to select gosteks for teams, For example Eldar on bravo team fighting Space Marines from Alpha team!!

This mod converts all weapons appearance, sounds and also their capabillities and performance!

This mod also comes with a very nice Imperial themed interface!

My upper most thanks to the father of this creation: Stalky!
For he inspired me to create 'Warhammer 40k Series I' and did the majority of work for this mod!

Thanks to Anubis for the creation of his brilliant Space Marine and Eldar Gosteks!

AND, If you have time! Thanks to me!

Installation has changed slightly, extracting the files should put the interface in the right place, don't need to move it from anywhere to anywhere else.

Really nice mod!
I love it all. There are some things which I don't know if you meant to leave in though.
The sounds of the Heavy Bolter are regular. I noticed that the MP5, I had it as the Tau thingy. That had regular MP5 reload sounds.
There also is no weapons.ini file which bugged me.
Oh well. As it is the first release of the mod I let it all go by. Veyr nice mod and I'll be sure to play it often.

Downloading, so long as it has a weapon mod.

Edit: Indeed it does!

For the avatar, try and make it a randomly cycling PHP imagifier, cycling through most of the weapons.

Edit 2: No weapon mod?!

;D First off, we are gonna have a little rest! (Im off to croatia next week!)

Hopefully, if we gain a lot of support from this mod, which shouldnt be a problem we might work on an expansion pack!

But dont go jumping the gun people! this is just a thought!!

P.S We expect to see more Warhammer 40k banners around the forums please!  ;D

The red dot on the barrel was removed since Rob made that poster. The one on the scope is still there, but I think it looks good.

We quickly released the ork shoota with the current mod to see if it was liked. If people like the ork shoota then we might consider making ork gosteks and more weapons!

I was thinking that a necron gostek would be impressive if created properly?

I must say I downloaded the mod and I think it's a job well done. Actually I merged the Spec Ops 2.0 one with this one, and I'm using the guns from Spec Ops (with one or two from WH40k) and gosteks from WH40k. I like the sounds of the guns, they do fine.

The gosteks are great, but I don't like the Eldar one. The helmets suck. But the Tau and Imperial Guard ones are very good - with the Tau one being one of the best I've ever seen ;) Space Marines are also ok.

As for the guns - I've got one suggestion. I've transplanted the Imperial Bolter to act as a replacement for the AK, instead of Steyr and it is better, IMO. The Bolter is supposed to be a heavy-kickass gun, slow rate of fire, but tremendous power. The standard AK does justice to that description much better than the fast-shooting, lower-power Steyr. Beside, the sound sounds better when it comes at longer intervals. So my opinion is that you put the Bolter into the 3rd weapon slot, and the Imp Autogun into the 4th slot. Would be better - at least until you get a custom weapon config. Still, most servers use a standard one, so it would still be a good idea to switch those places.
Also, make the bullet for the Eldar Ruger replacement slightly longer, please. It's hard to see where you're shooting.

Cheers! Again - good work!

Glad you like it

but I don't like the Eldar one. The helmets suck.
  >:( >:( Wow, you know i put a lot of work into that fuckin Gostek and for your lame ass to come around and drop a bomb on it anit appreciated....Now it's ok you say something but Next time try givin some Creative criticism....

And if you think it sucks....You Tryin doin an Eldar Gostek and lets see how well you do....It's easier said then done

I have every damn reason to be harsh!!  >:(

You have posted several threads publishing a ripped version of our mod that is supposed to be an ADD-ON!!

You were in full knowledge that you did not have our permission! the 40k mod was created by the mod team therefore it remains our work!

I am afraid to announce to all 40k fans that the release of this ripped and false add-on is not supported by us and it also has meant that the release of our announced expansion pack will be halted until further notice due to the fact that many weapons released in the pirated copy are similar to our own!

My appiologies!

Deadeye Rob, if his add-on didn't include any of your original content, you have absolutely nothing you're allowed to complain about.

If his add-on did include original material from your mod, then yes he needs to have your approval to post it forst.

If you guys need to discuss this any more, please do it via PM, e-mail, or some other non-public medium on these forums.

Your acting like your having a duel and your opponent gets a pistol and you get a spork.
Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

Mr. Realdeal in fact had included original material from our mod..

....And had No approval....

the only part which it was OK for him to add something was the turret pack & his Kroot Rifle which was his own work and must say it was creative and nice lookin too....

List of Weaponry that was Not Approved

Stealth Cannon >>>>>>> *realeased in our newest mod*

dual tau plasma pistol >>>>"which was modded from original state from Deadeye Rob's first series of tau weaponry"

Burst Cannon >>>>>*also was modded from original state from Deadeye Rob's first series of tau weaponry*

I D/l-ed his so called "Add on"  to make sure he hadn't used any of our work in it...which he did....As said before..he modded some of our work...which i didn't like....but as i was Banned so i couldn't request for him to remove the D/l link when he released his "Add on"........

Tau rail rifle is teh pwnzorz...ALL HAIL
Your acting like your having a duel and your opponent gets a pistol and you get a spork.
Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

Yeah hey sorry i kinda turned into a nerd over the first 4 weeks of school and really got into the game their is like 4 types of Imperial guard and if you don't mind i think if you can make these gosteks this mod would be like a heroin addict on like 500x what he uses anyways.... that was a bad discriptuion. but like their is

1. Of Course imperial Guard
2. Vostroyans (on Medusa V)
3. Catachan (Jungle) they have red bandanas practically like Guerillas
4. Cadian which are very similar to imperial guard just way more armored

We based the Imperial Long-Range Lasgun on the Gurrella effect. We never took it forward.

We thought it would be good if we used the well known classes to boost its popularity.

Ive announced the release of the official expansion pack, it has a few weapons that we are working on at the moment. feel free to post your suggestions there! we need your ideas!!!

Dude, I love this mod, I collect 40K, have a big Black Templars army, anyway I d/led it, and I found the reloading gun sound effects were unchanged, now according to Anubis, they sould be changed, so I downloaded again and reinstalled/extracted files, whatever you wanna call it, anyway the reload sounds still remained the same as the orgininal Soldat ones, help?

hmm... does this mod use some of the same sounds as the mecha mod or has my install of the 40k mod been borked because of the mecha mod?

EDIT: alright, i found the source of the problem. apparently the mecha mod changed a lot of soldat's default graphical and audio effects that the 40k mod borrows from, such as 'hit' and blood effects and the chainsaw sound (on a side note, the default chainsaw sounds a bit rough for a chainsword of the 41st millenium). i humbly request that you include more custom effects to counteract this.

this is a fantastic mod! i really love the gosteks and the way the races look. seriously, these are some of the best player models i've seen to date. i'm not sure if the reload sounds are the defaults but it does sound like it from here.

overall, i'm very impressed; y'all done a fantastic job thus far.

if you're going with an ork theme, i suggest rough swathes of red and white paint on rusting metal and random bits of checkerboard.

EDIT: minor bug: the weapons names for the gauss flaver and lawbringer seem to be reversed on the menu, as are the heavy bolter and burst cannon and storm bolter and hellgun.

we diddnt really do anything with the reload sounds, all we changed were the fire effect. so that is probably why we inadvertantly ended up with mecha soldat sounds. to be honest, i diddnt realy notice it!

This is a great mod... My only question is... Do the weapons actually fire differently, or are do they just look different? I can't find a weapon.ini file anywhere, but that might be because of the fact that you can select what weapons to use...

EDIT: Off-topic, but why do I have -1 karma? Does it start off like that? (I assumed that it started off at 0... I guess somebody gave me negative karma. That'd odd.)
