Ehm, half of the time my direct hits with grenades and m79s, etc., dont register at all.  Though, constant nade spam is annoying.

I agree with Mr Domino. Grenade usage is far too common and convenient as an extra bombardment with your primary. Less nade boxes all around. I would also be happy if the limit was set to 2 nades per player. Obviously this is already possible.

I was also wondering what it would be like to add grenades to the secondary weapon list, instead of having them automatically. I'm guessing this isn't going to be a popular idea though.???

weapon mods vis, weapon mods...but yeah when i play in non realistic pub the game is fucked up with nades.

Well... I've never dabbled with weapon mods, so I'm not fully aware as to what they're capable of.

Anyway, I think that less nade boxes would make things better. No need for any adjustments to the nades themselves.

Nades don't do enough damage if you ask me. A direct hit should be a direct kill. I wish that you could seperately choose how many nades you start with and how many you pick up from a pack, though. I don't really have a problem with the M79, and I don't have one with nades either.

Nades are instant kill if they hit your opponent. The problem is, they don't always register as hitting, so you just bounce your opponent around a bit.

I think nades are fine. Sometimes, however, in a ctf when the efc is leaving the base, one of the teammates behind me throws a nade at him, but it hits me and it propels me backwards really quickly. Obviously, there's no damage, because he's on my team, but now I'm way behind the efc with no hopes of catching up. >:(
thats a teamwork problem, not really grenade problem :/

Grenades do need to be nerfed. In servers the difference between 0 ping and 50 ping is like from the earth to the sky. With low ping grenades never have luck involved, THEY ALWAYS 1 HIT KILL !. Mostly there is no skill in using grenades and even for the people who are relatively good at aiming them, they still rely on spam to do the job. Grenades are frustrating and rob soldat of what it could truly be, a great game.

*gasp* No...One hit?? That's not at all like real life...I've heard of tons of people who got hit with grenades and survived. :P

Grenades are not always one hit kills in Soldat.  Obviously if a grenade directly hits you, you're going to die.  However, if you're just caught in the explosion, you'll just get launched away, and suffer some damage.

Grenades are frustrating and rob Soldat of what it could truly be, a great game.

Let me guess...They also ruin Halo, and Half-life, and Call of Duty, and any other combat simulator game?  Grenades, like many other features of Soldat, are an option that can be turned off.  If you don't like grenades, LOOK FOR SERVERS THAT DON'T USE GRENADES.  You're just like everyone who whines about the m79.  If you don't like it, go to servers that have it disabled.  I've been to several servers that disabled the m79, or the barret, or both.  Just don't complain about something if you're not willing to take the steps to prevent it.

Grenades are an essential tactical weapon in Soldat.  If there were no grenades in Soldat, you'd have hundreds (thousands?) or people asking for them, because combat games have grenades, and they add detail and fun to the game.  If you don't think so, no one's forcing you to play.

in a game where bullets do a fraction of health's damage, grenades should do half health or less (and not become pillows/water balloons when you play someone in another country)

I say nades are almost fine... just turn the knockback down a lot (If grenades in real-life could do that, well...... just imaging what warfare today would be). But 1 hit KOs seem realistic, especcialy if there is a grenade right under your feet.

Also, grenades are OK because they are relativly limited. You can't reload grenades...

Another thing that should be changed, is how the grenade blows up on contact with a player. If you can chuck grenades at walls and they don't explode, then stepping on one shouldn't do that either. If this is fixed, i bet that many of the other downsides would also be fixed... 1 Hit KO's might become a lot less frequent, because someone could simply run over a grenade, and escape the very critical point, which is the center of the explosion.

To counter the randomness that the above might produce (grenade takes too long to explode...), then the time it takes for it to explode should be defined by how long the THROW GRENADE button is held.

And again, kickback- might be funny watching someone go flying from one end of the stage to another, but that shouldn't happen. Ever.

I actually agree with this. But, the problem is it's easy enough to dodge nades anyway (given that they're not thrown straight in your face)... that and being able to run straight through them would render them almost useless in a firefight. Also, you wouldn't be able to hinder your enemies while escaping with the flag.

Grenades are a weapon everyone has access to without dying and in the hands of a skilled grenade user are like aimed bombs. The damage should be lower to sum it up. Or raise the waiting time to throw them because when i'm sniping in realistic mode I have no clue if theres any one behind me until they nade spam me to death which is almost as annoying as deathmatch with 10 M79's.
