Quake Arena Mod v1.6 [update]

Quake Arena Mod v1.6





  • All weapons changed to weapons from Quake III/QuakeII.
  • New sounds from Quake III/QuakeII.
  • bullet hit sounds now hit "beep" sound from Quake III.
  • New interface.
  • Weapon gfx changed.
  • New gostek.
  • New sparks.
  • Powerup gfx changed.
  • New explosion & flame Gfx.
  • Weapon mod.
  • Mod launcher.

     Download mod

[edit]
Updated to 1.6:
 - Added interface.
 - Lighter grenades and vest kit.
 - Renamed shotgun :S.
 - Resized plasma gun
 - Some minor updates

Awesome will DL later, just one thing though, are the interface weapons re-sized?

(Not that there is anything wrong with that, they look really nice and that's what matters).

Great mod. Very smooth menu icons, weapon graphics are resized well, none of them look too big or too small. Bullet graphics look nice too and i like most of the sounds.

A few suggestions though:
~ Kit icons are a bit too dark and there's not enough contrast. It's hard to distinguish what's drawn on them (especially nade & clusters). I know you want to keep the style "quakish" with all those fine grungy rusty textures, but in case of kits I strongly suggest you sacrifice some of that in exchange for legibility.
~ Make a version of a shotgun without laser scope. Online it won't be fair if someone hid somewhere and you can still see the laser.
~ Make barrett (or railgun) 1-2 pixels longer, so that it would be easier to see the difference between it and Steyr (plasma gun). Or maybe make plasma gun shorter.
~ Gostek graphics could use more contrast, and maybe sized down a tiny bit. They look a bit big, there's too much solid color and barely any shading visible.
~ Minigun fire sound is.. meh. :S

Well, it still has a few flaws, but still. This is the best mod I've ever seen, no less. Great job.

lol the only weapon i dont like is hyper blaster to ugly, and plasma gun reloads just like your Halo 3.5 plasma rifle  :-[

Wow! amazing, this thread needs way way more posts. I love the 3D'ish look you've given the weapons.

Still one of my favourite modders, and in my books up there with the all time best. I'd like to see some more ingame screens though, doesn't make my lips juicy or pants wet atm!

Looks that way. I'll reupload it tomorrow if I find it on my computer... And if I won't forget...

But really, shouldn't something be done about all those dead links? Perhaps a TMS-like site could be made to host mods and apps.
