My first attempt NEW PICTUREZZZ

I've always admired the extraordinarily talented pixel artists here, but I could never get my guns to look good. After about ages of nonstop mspainting, I think I finally have something.

Here's the original picture:

Palette

The shape doesn't at all seem right, but it makes a cool fictional gun. Critique is appreciated.

The top one looks ultra-thin. The bottom one's OK though.

Nice one Rabid... err Charles. ;) The buttstock doesn't look just right, but apart from that, you're golden.

The bright shade of brown is a bit odd. Dampen it a bit, and it'll be perfect. Anti-aliasing can be used to create the effect of a portion of a pixel, considering the gray as the base. Your depth perception is wonderful; I'm glad to see you didn't follow the "bottom is dark, top is light" philosophy many new artists do.

Great for a first. I think the guide at the very end of the barrel should be a bit taller and thicker, and that one pixel jutting out at the end ought to be removed.

For the stock at the back, perhaps try expanding the top part just a pixel or two to the right more, not by much. It could make a world of difference in such precise pixel-art as this ;)

Wow. I like this one very much. Your style is what I really like.

Outstanding choise of colours. Shading is very nicely done.

No other words. Just make more....
