CTF/HTF - Asteroids b2.0
« on: June 09, 2006, 03:19:12 am »
I wasn't entirely sure where to post this, if in the HTF section, or on this one, but since I've started the map as a CTF one, here it is.

This is a map that came up to me while I was travelling in a bus, really good things always come to my mind as I watch through the window of one of those things. And yes, I'm always gonna tell you all how my maps were created and how I imagined them.

Before starting this I've searched through the old forum to make sure it hasn't been done before, I've founded three maps but non of them were like mine. I was going to wait until the finished version of the map, but before rushing into that one, I want help from the qualified mappers of the community and also the players.

The fact of having asteroids all over the level may be non Soldat...ish, but it's an interesting thing to test. The map is in a ring of asteroids, magically simetric to fit CTF. I want all the feedback you can throw me, good or bad. Especially about the way I've limited the players to go away into space, yes with explosive polygons, they are invisible, so you don't really know where they are, but they are sorrounding the asteroids so if you go too far from them, you'll implode :).

I've some thing planned for the final version, but they're merely graphical, so before doing that I want to know what you guys think about the gameplay. Enough with the words, I present you, Asteroids.

About The Waypoints:
I really can't get along with these things, and lately I don't have the time to dedicate myself to this thing. So, I'm calling for help, anyone that wants to waypoint the finished version of this map, may contact me by my mail adress (ratboy_jo@hotmail.com). Full acreditation will be given :)

If you managed to read this far instead of just watching the screens, I thank you for your time :). Have fun.

I like it, added at my r/a server. Too small for 16 players ;)

wow, that looks awesome with the earth in the background!

reminds me alot of the second level of starfox64

also, imageshack is a better host for images than filelodge(goes strate to image and is faster)
There are other worlds than these

Thanks, I'll have that in mind, I'll edit them in the next days.

Thanks everyone on the feedback, I can see my experiment on space maps is not so bad as I thought it would be. I'm currently very busy, but expect the final version on July :)
