I guess I should release this now, eh? Medium-sized Capture the Flag map, I personally think it's the best CTF map I've ever made. Thanks to Demonic and Boxo for critique, suggestions, etc. :D

Icy/cold atmosphere? Meh, I guess so. This map is pretty nice. I won't comment any more than thus because I haven't/won't playtest it. Why did you decide to name it Craven?

Now that I look at it, it doesn't look icy at all.  Oh well, blue ftw.

I was going to say that I don't feel it really icy, but the map itself looks good, very good, as usual of your work ^^

The look is good so no more about that. The layout is pretty good for gameplay, except some parts which could be better in my view (more about them later). Something I can critisize is medic and grenade placements, they might seem good, but they aren't... I mean the place next to flag spawn is good but it's only place for medics in your map (and grenades also)... That means that a defender just need to camp in medics and no one has a change to kill him (if attacker is run out of grenades and not using barret or m79). So I would order more medic places if u'll do next version :).

Then more about layout: As I said it's pretty good for gameplay but hhmm how can I call it? I had a feeling that I've seen this before... It's kinda original :S... Well that was only my opinion but then more about layout "problems". I mean with problems that they could be better, not that it sucks very badly now.


This screenshot explains problem number 1... Spray on respawn. I really hate to run towards (ak & minimi) spray right after I've spawned...

But anyway critics might sound kinda hard, it's good map and it could be default if this map has been published 2-3 years ago (just my opinion).
Look: 2/2, Layout: 1½/3. As you can see it's a lot harder to get points of layout from me :P. Anyway ty for waypoints also.

I think the grenade placements are fine the way they are.  But the medikits I will agree with you to a certain extent.  The problem was that I could not find anywhere else to place more medikits.  I will experiment with the objects and whatnot and see.

Also, were the objects acting all faggy for you?  I mean, did all the grenades and medikits spawn only on your side of the map throughout the game?

I don't think spraying on the bottom route is a big issue.  Nade-spamming, I'd agree, but umm, I think the bottom route's fine as it is.

They spawned both red and blue bases. It's just that, for example bravo defender takes medicit, the next medicit spawns right next to him (if attacker takes the medic then the next medic spawns into attacker's base). I hope u'll set a medicit spawn(s) on the bottom way (and maybe on the top). Of course there's a danger that if u set a medic on bottom: The bottom medics might pile up, which isn't any good for gameplay... But it's worth testing if haven't done that already :)

Glad to hear the objects function for you.  I've been getting real frustrated about those.

And don't worry, I can set more medikit spawns near the flag areas if they pile up on the bottom route, in order to lessen the probability of the medikits spawning there. :P

Gruzka's a bit too bright.  I needed something darker.

So? PW can easily darken everything slightly ;Q Maybe it's just me but I just abhor that little splotch that keeps recurring throughout the current texture, heh. Ah, well... the scenery is superb, tho'. I don't think I'd mind seeing this in Soldat at all.

I would have to agree this is a good map, but I don't think it is your best.  The layout is simple and some areas like Suowarrior pointed out are too easy to spray.  I suggest you add colliders in the spawn regions and something similar like in ctf_Dropdown which prevent massive spray from the middle route.  Nothing exactly like it, but something to serve the same purpose.  Shading is default.  Nice bluish and icy theme.  Map looks quite good overall, but the layout hurts the game-play.

I already fixed the areas that Suowarrior has pointed out.  And if spray in mid gets bad, just take the top route and kill whoever's spraying.  You've got a nice height advantage and open space, so you can nade-spam the mofo to death.
