CTF Luxor - Soldat Fantasy battle map

Description: Soldat Fantasy Battle Map. Asymmetrical... I can't believe i finnaly made something for the contest... Map is very simple, almost without any sceneries...

Everything looks great, as would be expected from the VTT nub :P  May I suggest getting rid of those 2 multitexture block areas on the very top right and left?  They look like they're just stuck into the ground there and a tad unrealistic.  Otherwise GJ ;)
For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.

Second you on that, maybe just reshape them so they don't look weird.

Nice map this one, love the texturing and the ruin thingies :D

Really? I feel that they're one of the things that really make this map. VTT, it seems you've presented us with another perfect work of art. I love it, keep up the good work!

edit: hmm, now that I think of it the middle of the map seems kinda lacking in scenery.
There are other worlds than these

To be honest map doesn't have almost any sceneries... It's just barrels, grass, 3 bushes, bridges made of col6.bmp and the sun... Those blocks at the top are suppose to be something like a pyramid, lazy me got bored while building it and dropped it unfinished...

And btw even though map doesn't have any uber sceneries or ultra-high polygon count there is still complains about low fps... holy-mole...

Playtest on #soldat.mapping showed it to be quite balanced and fast to play. So i'm satisfied with my work here...

And are the blocks scenery? They have to be!

Offtopic: That just gave me an idea for polyworks.
There needs to be a changable radius for shading on polys!

Good scenery stretching. See smiluu's maps if you want to be blown away by this type of work.

There needs to be a changable radius for shading on polys!
I've thought about this, but found it to be superfluous. If you want to shade specific sectors, just select them out of the bunch of vertices you're working with.

Nice theme. It obviously makes the overall construction more sensible (i.e. the square ends to platforms).

But it looks like the stones are half jammed in the rocks...

I wish I was artistic..

Giving a map suppar shading is easy if you use the multiply colouring option!

I really like the looks of this map, but it just doesn't play like I would of expected. The paths seem rough and bouncy, I had a little trouble moving through it at first. Also, people can exploit the OPC polygons near the top and get rid of the flag up there. Since they have no chance of returning/grabbing the flags up there it will just stall out.

Imo the textures doesnt match perfect together. But still damn neat texture and looks overall. The base designs are very interesting and while I playtested it, it felt balanced. If there would be still stars to grant map, I could give 5 for this. I thought I never say this: Damn amazing job VTT!
